Happy, feeling glad. I got sunshine in a bag!

I just love that lyric from the song 'Clint Eastwood' by the Gorillaz. And I suppose it is appropriate on a day like today when the only sunshine anyone is getting would be the kind that comes in a bag. Today was my last day driving my route and I start a new one on Monday. Unlike other routes, there've been great passengers on this route and I shall miss them.

Online quizzes also piss me off

*looks at the current world's population* You must have a lot of frustration then.

What pisses you off?

but they didn't have a category for Online Tests! I resolved to avoid online tests as a result of seeing so many blogs filled with nothing but online test results. (people are desperate for content, myself included) but dammit, there has to be a better way!

PS Incidentally it is true that stupid people piss me off. Which is why I do not do tech support any more.

Lame

Boy did the Super Bowl suck or what? Not only did the game suck, but I don't remember seeing one decent or even mildly creative advertisement. What a disappointment. Of course, I knew Tampa Bay would win which is why my heart rooted for Oakland, but the gambler in me put money on the Buccaneers.

Vegas here I come!

Super Sunday

So here it is again. Time for that annual extravaganza of American excess, the Super Bowl. I don't watch pro sports at all really but I will be watching the Super Bowl and it's not for the football but rather for the commercials. Now I'm as unamerican as they come and absolutely abhor are capitalist system and the effects on society. But this is the one time where one can truly see creativity and imagination in the selling of stuff. So yeah, I'll watch and then take a shower because I'll feel so dirty afterward. But I'll still encourage everyone to visit adbusters and to spread the word of this great web site.

PS Go Raiders!

You know you're old when

You volunteer to chaperone a junior high school dance. Which is what I'll be doing tonight. I admit to being a bit curious as to what dances are like and how they've change, if at all, since I was a teenager a long time ago. This should be fun.
And before you realise, another 2 weeks rolls on by

Shit, no wonder noone is reading this thing. I read that the idea of having a blog is to..you know...WRITE in it. Well call me lazy, busy or whatever. Truth is, I have been busy. New bus routes going into effect in a week and I'll be driving Rt 301 which meanders from Richmond Beach to Downtown Seattle via our world famous bus tunnel, which runs underneath 3rd Ave. I picked this route for an interesting reason. When I first moved here to Seattle back in 1996, I used to commute to downtown on that very route. I hated riding the bus at the time. Really really really loathed it. When I left that job at the bank and took my last bus ride home, I swore an oath that I would never ride a bus again. Well technically, I think I've kept that oath. After all, there is a big difference between riding the bus and driving the bus. It's more fun being behind the wheel.

Anyway, I've been training on these dual mode electric/diesel articulated buses manufactured by Breda which I think is a Swiss company. You can read more about them here. Truth be told they are fun to drive, although other drivers don't like them for some reason. They're quite heavy (34 tons empty) and slower than molasses flowing uphill in January on the freeway, but that doesn't bother me so much because I'm paid by the minute.

It hasn't been THAT long, has it?

You gotta be shitting me!! Are you telling me it's been over 2 friggin' months since I wrote anything? DAMN!!
Oh well, it's not like anyone cares or is actually READING this thing or anything, right? So here we are, it's 2003 and life is just wonderful. That is, if you happen to be earning over 6 figures a year. Everyone else gets to eat shit Top of the list of shit eaters this week would be the poor overworked security guard at Sea Tac who after a long lonely overnight shift had a little bit of a nap causing mass panic and confusion. So did this guy get a reprimand or a warning or anything like that. Nope, in the compassionate spirit of the 21st century, this poor chap was FIRED!! Well what's really sad is that most people I know were quite happy that this fellow got shitcanned.

My First Google Referrals...scary

Yay, at least a couple people actually found me through Google. So in honor of that, I now present the last 5 search terms that led people here.

Sneezing Constantly
Northwest Survival Items From Nature
Vacation American Accent
Halloween Costume Ideas Pothead
raves 2002- bay area- popsicle

In a way, I'm kinda disappointed. Those searches are kinda innocuous. But at least it's inspiring to know at least 11 individuals out of a worldwide population of 6 BILLION somehow someway found their way here. Perhaps inspiring enough to actually continue writing here without waiting 2 months at a time. :-)
